wow has time just flown by.  Tony has retired, Anthony has graduated from a local college, has has just about completed his first year away. wow! i think i need to work on this page a bit more often.  i still am the asst. director of costumes at Anthony's HS.  i totally enjoy teaching the girls to sew and make costumes.

Conn. Yankee in King Arthurs Court

well, another HS production over. they did "Conn. Yankee in King Arthur's Court". it was wonderful! we had fun making costumes.

guess what? i taught a few of the girls in the "costumes and props" to crochet. actors as well when they had down time. 2 made "snoods" (used to hold hair). we also made scaves to raise money for the drama club. they did an awesome job. i am proud of them all.

the fall comedy is getting ready for opening day.

i am teaching the girls to crochet. thats been fun.

they're making scaves now to sell to make some e-tra money for "customs and props".

most of them didnt know how to crochet at all, and have come a long way. i am very proud of them all.

broadway night at the HS

anthony had a "broadway night" about week or two back at his HS. he did "if i were a rich man". he was amazing. lol i took a film of it on my digital camera. so its not the best quality, but i think i'll try to add it here. but, in the mean time, heres a pic of him. did i tell you he was awesome? Ü ok i'll try tomarrow with the video...its not working tonight. grrrrrr!

teeny awards Ü

we have the best news. anthony has been nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy by the teeny awards. ok, what are the teeny awards you ask? well, let me try to explain: the teeny awards, http://www.teenyawards.com/ are A student theatre arts Scholarship Recognition Program of the Greater Port Jefferson Northern Brookhaven Arts Council, modeled after the EEAC Teeny Awards established in 2002. Patterned after the Tony Awards, qualified judges attend plays at the participating high schools and using an adapted rubric as an evaluation tool, score students on a variety of skills. The top scoring students are announced as the nominees, who attend a gala awards ceremony, where the winners are announced and presented with a glass trophy and a scholarship. i copied that from the link above where you will find out more.
anthony was nominated for his roll as the "count" in "fools" he did back in nov 2008. there is a total of 19 catagories on the nomination page. newfeild has been nominated in 12 catagories. with 16 nominations. as i have worked behind the scenes doing costums for all his plays, i knew we had great talent there. i'm sure we dont have to say how PROUD we are of our super shinning star. i was jumping all over him today when he came home with this wonderful news.
i cried when i heard "my angels" had been nominated, as well as our leads bill and sappir. then there were others as well. i am such a proud "drama mom". this is anth's fav pic. lol looks better live. Ü
